For over two decades, one band has ruled the saloons, juke joints, taverns and honky tonks of Sydney. That band is Spurs For Jesus and their name has become synonymous with alt-country and cowpunk in this here town.
During their 20+ reign, they have blown the roof off and kicked the doors out of more venues than they care to remember. Let’s face it, with the amount of beer consumed in that time, they probably couldn’t remember anyway.
Along the way, they have supported international legends like The Supersuckers, Southern Culture On The Skids, Tony Joe White and The Flying Burrito Brothers.
But it’s their own performances that have become the stuff of legend. More sermon than show, people come in droves to worship at the House of Spurs every time they hit the boards.
Now, they have joined forces with fellow local cowpunk veterans, Deadwood 76 for a split 7″ that will only add to the legend.
The Spurs For Jesus/Deadwood 76 Split 7″ is out now.
